Become a Docent
You would like to volunteer but you're not sure what to do? Become a Docent in our Performing Arts Center!
What is a Docent?
Docents are volunteers who work at the PAC during performances to assist patrons and help preserve the beauty of our PAC. They work as ushers, taking tickets, assisting patrons to their seats, enforcing rules and ensuring that everyone enjoys our students' performances.
A Docent can be any adult over the age of 18, not currently enrolled as a student. We have had Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, siblings, and alumni who have volunteered as Docents.
As a Docent you will be trained on Docent duties. You will be notified of upcoming events and can choose which events you would like to work. (There is no minimum requirement.) Most Docents are assigned to a position inside the theatre and will see the performances at no charge. Best of all, you will be present to support your student.
If you are interested, please send an email to SSHSDocent@yahoo.com. Training dates will be set up soon. Please...volunteer. Your children will be proud of you.
Thank you,
